How to book for a learners license

Learners license bookings can be done online or at your nearest traffic department. With our help, you can easily and effortlessly book learners license online.
We can also assist by taking you to the testing station and assisting with the process (a fee is applicable), or we can guide you through the process of where to go and how to go about making a learner's license booking at the traffic department.

How much is learners license

Depending on where you are based and your requirements, learners license can cost anywhere between R500R2 500. This pricing generally includes assistance with your booking (online or at the department), learners license classes and study material for the test.

Requirements To Book Learners License

Whether you are booking online or at the traffic department, you will need to provide the following documentation:

  • Your original Identification Document or a passport.
  • Two identical black and white ID-sized photographs. You can bring extra along in case more are required.
  • Proof of residence (a utility bill or a rental agreement that proves you reside there). If you don’t have a bill that is in your name, you can get an affidavit from the person whose name the bill is in.
  • A booking fee if you are doing it yourself at the traffic department nearest to you. Be sure to confirm with them in advance what the booking fee is.
  • Individuals residing in an informal settlement need to present a letter stamped by their ward councillor as proof of residence.
